Zerro's Leg Operation  E-mail
Stallions

On 19 June 2011, Zerro banged his off hind leg on a pole while jumping.  Unfortunately despite aggressive treatment the injury got infected and he had to have an operation on the leg on 15 August 2011.  Thanks to diligent nursing by Lauren and I and after 4 months of "box rest" Zerro started work again on 26 November 2011 so him and Stuart should be back in action by February 2012.

And I am sure that they will soon be back in the same form shown in this photo taken by Prestige Photography at Easter Festival 2011.

Stuart Walker has been riding & jumping Zerro for us since January 2011.  They have been getting to know each other and to a few shows together and were even placed in 3 speed classes  but I think these photos show how what a great job Stuart is doing with Zerro and we have great hopes for them as a team going forward.

1 day old Cricket

Cuddly 6 month old Cricket Such a beautiful girl
What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more nicker, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.

HORSE OF THE YEAR 2011  E-mail

Holeshot Stud horses had a very successful Horse Of The Year show 2011.  Holeshot Di Do won the Paint & Pinto fillies 2 years under 4 years class and then went on to win Champion Paint & Pinto mare which earned her a place in the Supreme Breed horse class.  Holeshot Nickelback won the Paint & Pinto Championship qualifying for the Supreme Gelding class and then stood overall Reserve Champion Paint & Pinto under the German judge Susanne Zahner.

In the Supreme championship classes Nickelback was pulled forward to the final selection and then stood 6th overall.  A fantastic achievement for such a youngster, considering that he only turned 3 in January and was competing against fully grown mature horses.  Congratulations to his proud owner Heather Wallace and thank you for trusting us with his production.
The British judges were very complimentary about Di Do but said that she was too young to be competitive in the Supremes seeing as she was only going to turn three years old two days after the show.

We were very proud of our babies, they were both handled the excitement and atmosphere of the show and were extremely well behaved.
